Little Wood-Satyr
Megisto cymela

Little Wood Satyr is common statewide. The habitat is moist deciduous woods, but it strays into other forest types. The hostplants are various grasses including Orchard Grass (Dactylis glomerata) and Centipede Grass (Eremochloa ophiuroides). The occurrence from March to September indicates that there are two to three broods although the species is univoltine in parts of its range. Early Date: April 1 (Charlton County); Late Date: September (Screven County). Conservation Status: Secure.
