Leonard’s Skipper
Hesperia Leonardus

Leonard’s Skipper is listed as occurring in the state because of an historic record without details from Rabun County. In recent years, it has been found in Tennessee near Chattanooga in Bradley County where it occurs in mid-September to mid-October. More field work is needed in the counties along the Tennessee and North Carolina lines to determine whether it occurs in Georgia.
The hostplant is Little Bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium) as well as other grasses. It is attracted to purple flowers, particularly Liatris spp.
